Professional Experience History (Highlights):
2/1/02 - TODAY  Nisvara Inc. San Jose, CA
Founder, Chairman of the Board (prior to August 2004: Chairman and CEO), and VP Business Development and Marketing

Nisvara began with the concept of building a "silent computer" and has evolved into a technology component developer of conductive cooling and efficient heat spreading for hot components, systems and racks.  Product development is based on combining material science, system engineering, and thermal engineering.  The company has solved the "HEAT" problem facing the computer and electronics industries.

  • Defined initial market opportunity (and each new market as company evolved) for a high performance computer that fits the huge need in the multimedia production and edit markets.  "Noise costs money!"
  • Recruited world class material scientists to implement the technology vision.  (Created new composite with anisotropic thermal conductive properties.)
  • Recruited all team members to provide technology, business development, marketing, finance, and operations functions for each stage of the start-up company.  "Right sized" work force as required.
  • Numerous venture capital presentations.
  • Created financial plan, including costing and projections for various stages of the start-up company.
  • Company successfully built examples of high-performance silent computers which use closed enclosures and no air flow.
  • Presented at International Business Development Network's "Under the Radar" event in 2004 as one of seven companies in the "Companies to Watch" section.  Won Audience Choice award.  Mentioned in San Jose Mercury News coverage of event.
  • Discussing Nisvara's impact on the EPA's Energy Star next generation specification for computers and servers.
  • Negotiating with Intel, Sun, HP, and other industry leaders for "technology collaboration" agreements and participation in CEC demonstration.
  • Arranged for Nisvara's initial office space at NASA Research Park, Moffett Field, CA, and arranged for use of NASA Ames Research Center's multi-billion dollar prototyping facilities to build initial new material (carbon fiber based) components.  Discussed numerous projects with NASA Advanced Supercomputers division, including the potential product migration of NASA's "Hyperwall" data visualization experimental technology for commercial use.  Nisvara's technology would allow the Hyperwall to reside in a common conference room instead of requiring a Data Center's high pressure cold water circulation to cool the cluster supercomputer.
