-          Nisvara 2003-current Chief Scientist- NASA Girvan affiliate- Super computer architect, for next generation Hyper-Wall. (9.9 TeraOPs might be worlds 3rd fastest computer). This is an un-funded startup.

-          Missions International Hospital Corp 2002-current Chief Scientist Strategic advisor to vice chair for all medical imaging and any corporate undertakings. Also manage R&D laboratory. This is an un-funded startup.

-          Cardio Logic 2002-current Senior Engineer Military image processing specialist, image ortho-rectification (warping, filtering, enhancement) plus digital terrain mapping in real time of UAV, and satellite data. (Advanced algorithm development and hardware implementation).

-          Lumavison 2000-1: Director of Engineer position, designed ~ 100 TeraOP image processing engine to seamless mosaic 24 HDTV signals to a digital cinema screen.

-          Qubit Light 2001: Worked on proposal effort and preliminary algorithms for real time holographic video projection system. It may become a 10-100 PetaOP engine development.

-          Resolution Sciences Incorporated 99: Consultant to fix optical/mechanical/image processing for a high-resolution 16 Giga pixel sub micron volumetric histological diagnostic service.

-          Condor 99 – 2001: Integrated ELINT electronic modules and networks to display results in real time in windows on a Unix workstation. Involved X-Windows/Unix/Solaris/Datacube/custom hardware, software, drivers and OEM negotiations and much signal processing/decoding ELINT.

-          Research and Development Solutions Inc. 98. Built custom workstations for Navy ELINT applications, served as customer interface.

-          Photon Dynamics Incorporated 97 - 98: Ported 20+ Man years of Datacube Image processing software to run on next generation Solaris – PCI platforms. This was for a real time LCD panel inspection and repair stations.

-          LLNL Lawrence Livermore National Labs 99: Developed 200 frame/second data storage system for a real time video goggle-display bullet tracking system.

-          Splash 1998: Assisted in dissolving a Los Angeles company, and replacing product with a working OEM product to Xerox.

-          Trusi 1997: Subcontract development of a Plasma servo control for silicon wafer thinning.

-          Del La Rue Giori 96 – 97: Integrated > 1G pixels/sec to display properly on a workstation for real time currency inspection used on 94% of worlds currency manufacturing.

-          Stereotaxis: 7/94-2001: Real-time brain-tumor fiduciary mark (target tracking) location using Datacube MV200. This is for intra cranial robot navigation, guidance and propulsion control.

 

-          Teleview 12/93-12/94: Real-time video compression and color correction for SGI and Logictech PC video camera development.

-          Unisys 8/94-present: Real-time video telemetry enhancements for missile tracking using Datacube MV200.

-          Logical Vision Systems 10/94-95: Stereo x-ray target location for real-time logging industry quality control using Datacube MV200. Assisted in development of icon-based “C” code-generator ( up to 20K lines code per day bug free self documenting ).

-          ACCOM 1/93-5/93: Analyzed Current Video Disk recording/editing system software and micro-code, added algorithm enhancements to improve video quality and overall user interface.

-          Accuray 2/92-95: Developed real time target tracking image processing system for purposes of guiding knifeless, non-invasive, radio-surgery robot.

-          Open MRI 6/92-12/92: Developed MRI image enhancement packages to be compatible with existing MRI system and with third party medical database management system.

-          DSP consultant for Cipher Data Systems, QualComm, Hilton Hotels, Universal Data Systems, ~84 for high-speed DSP algorithm system/board/chip design. Work included DSP processing system design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturer. (1985 to present)

-          Founder Mesa Technologies 83-84: Assembled and directed a team of analog, digital, software, mechanical, optical, chemical, business, and legal professionals to developed high density, high capacity (terabytes +) high sensitivity (video write rates) optical data storage media (sold). In less than 9 months we accomplished that which another corporation (CDC) failed to do after spending $600,000,000.

-          After evaluating a multi-billion dollar (>$6,000,000,000.) proposal I assembled and directed a team of professionals to develop advanced high resolution superior quality multi-screen stereoscopic image analysis workstations, with ultra high thru put and high speed communications net-works providing connectivity to central hubs. These workstations cost substantially less than current production models and opened up market share opportunities.

-          Developed and improved sensitive real time numerical algorithms to yield accurate geopositional coordinates for image warping/rubber sheeting image processing GIS applications.

-          Directed electrical engineers and techs for 150 Mbit/sec LANs (1983). I proposed Gigabit/sec LANs 1984. Analyzed high-speed digital signal processing equipment and proposed hard and software development schedules to replace current multi-million dollar systems with future $20,000 systems.

 

 

Analogic - Peabody/Wakefield Massachusetts (1982-1984)

Technical Marketing Specialist/Program director

-          Worked in concert with VP of Medical Imaging to bring in new OEM contracts for equipment used in medical image processing, computers, and array processing.

-          Coordinated efforts of engineering professionals to developed image processing support equipment (such as medical film printers) that was marketed thorough OEM's.

-          Led marketing and engineering sales efforts and was the technical interface to world wide imaging companies including Toshiba, Hitachi, Schumatsu, Picker, 3M, and others. This involved much on the spot product design and non-recurring engineering cost estimating.

-          Developed high-speed analog/digital converters used for Nuclear medicine, telecommunications and other markets. Some of these converters became medical industry standards.

-          Debugged high-speed digital video image storage subsystems based on SMD disk farms.

-          Developed and tested varied data compression algorithms in software and digital logic.

-          Designed phased array acoustic sensor for ultrasound markets.

 

Medical Data Systems - Ann Arbor, Michigan (1980 to 1982) Systems Engineer/project director

-          Clinched OEM sales by engineering interfaces with customers' equipment on the spot with accurate estimates of NRE budget and delivery time tables.

-          Served as marketing, and/or technical interface to medical imaging companies including Phillips, Siemens, Picker and General Electric

-          Created tomographic Nuclear imaging product line from a basic Nuclear-imaging product, resulting in increased sales.

-          Engineered and facilitated implementation of Ultrasonic imaging product line from a basic Nuclear imaging product, resulting in increased sales.

-          Engineered and facilitated implementation of Fluoroscopic imaging product line from a basic Nuclear imaging product, resulting in increased sales to the Digital Subtraction angiographic market.

Highway Safety Research Institute - University of Michigan, Ann Arbor Michigan (1973 - 1980) Research Associate II Engineering/Physical Science

-          Developed many computerized real time data acquisition and control systems.

-          Developed with physicist a high speed (10,000 frame/second).  X-ray cine-radiographic imaging system used to win many future contracts.

-          Designed, developed hypodermic needle testing equipment for  Becton-Dickinson, IP, IV, and IM marketing research efforts.

-          Adapted systems for Department of Navy crash impact testing.

-          Performed extensive research in auditory and vestibular neurological functions, including in vivo experiments on primates.

-          Performed extensive designing, interfacing, prototyping, testing, and production of hardware and software for auditory experiments.

-          Designed improved acoustic, force, and motion sensors.

-          Performed single unit, and cortical recordings for numerous toxicological studies.

-          Hands on experience with microprocessors, minicomputers, and mainframes.
